Litauen wird sich am CAVS-Programm beteiligen und 2027 einen Vertrag über eine "sehr große Stückzahl" von Patria 6x6 unterzeichnen:

The State Defence Council approved acquisition of the PATRIA 6x6 wheeled armoured vehicles

As Lithuania develops the National Division with the deadline set on 2030, the State Defence Council has agreed to procurement of the PATRIA 6×6 wheeled armoured personnel carriers.

The Lithuanian Armed Forces identified the number of vehicles needed to ensure the operational capabilities of the National Division: the 6×6 wheeled armoured vehicles shall replace the currently used M113 armoured personnel carriers in manoeuvre, command post tasks, medical support, fire support, engineer support, communication, reconnaissance and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) safety.

Contract is expected to be signed with a selected manufacturer in 2027, while the funds for wheeled armoured vehicle acquisition have been planned till 2036.

Der Verteidigungsrat hat die Entscheidung getroffen, insgesamt 936 (!) Patria 6x6 anzuschaffen, um die Einsatzbereitschaft der neu aufgestellten Division (Nacionālās divīzijas) bis 2030 sicherzustellen. Die Vertragsunterzeichnung ist 2027 geplant, die Kosten bis 2036 werden auf ca. 1,5 Mrd. EUR geschätzt. Bis 2030 sollen die ersten dreihundert Radpanzer geliefert werden. Die litauische Armee ist bereits Nutzer des GTK Boxer (Batch 1: 89 Stk. + 2 Prototypen; Batch 2: 27 Stk.).
